Daybook
December
Outside my window: Snow…beautiful, clean, white!
Clothing myself in: blue jeans, a grey turtleneck over a blue sweater.
My newest book, America’s Favorite Christmastown, is now available at Cafe Mela in Wenatchee.
Reading: Snow Globe Secrets by Laura Thomas (romantic suspense, 5 stars)
The Secret Book of Flora Lee by Patti Callahan Henry (novel) 5 stars

Untamed (memoir) by Glennon Doyle 5 stars
Thinking and thinking: about my current work-in-progress/manuscript--Kristen. I’m polishing it up and adding a few more scenes to get it ready to send to my editor in January. Also due in January is a portion of a screenplay for my creative writing course. December will not be a quiet month for me, as much as I’d like it to be. Until these two projects are finished, I will have a hard time thinking about anything else.
Pondering: We can do hard things.
Carefully Cultivating Rhythm: My husband and I went skiing for the first time this season on Saturday. It was a return to our winter rhythm, and it’s one I really love. With very few exceptions, this is what we will be doing every Saturday between now and March. I like it this way. The simplicity of these days--the time together, outside in nature is restorative.
Creating By Hand: nothing to report this month.
Learning lessons in: writing drama for stage and screenplays. I will never be able to watch a movie the same way again. I love figuring out the formulas.
Keeping house: I’m on the lookout for a new couch for my living room. My family wants something comfy for watching movies. I want something that is also stylish. Can we have both? We’ll see.
To be fit and happy: Yoga, sauna, walking.
Giving thanks: for family dinners and meet-ups with friends.
Living the Liturgy: Advent is here.
Planning for the week ahead: lots and lots of writing. If I want to have some time off around Christmas week, I’ve got to get my work done now. It’s crunch time.
Book Stuff: Here’s another gorgeous cover reveal for the Apron Strings Collection that I’m collaborating on for next year. Book #4, Beatrice by Patti Wolf. Her book is now available for pre-order on Kindle.

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you: wherever he may send you; may he guide you through the wilderness: protect you through the storm; may he bring you home rejoicing: at the wonders he has shown you: may he bring you home rejoicing: once again into our doors.
